Imelda Papin honors at Star Awards for Music; PMPC reveals winners
MATAGUMPAY na idinaos ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) ang Star Awards For Music: ‘A Decade Of OPM Excellence’ kagabi, Linggo, ika-9 ng Setyembre sa Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.
Bilang pagdiriwang sa isang dekadang pagbibigay-halaga sa industriya ng musika, sabay na pinarangalan ng PMPC ang 9th (2017) at 10th (2018) Star Awards For Music.
Dahil ito ay selebrasyon ng sampung taong pagbibigay-pugay sa mga natatanging alagad ng musika, naging mabituin ang gabi ng parangal na pinaningning ng mga naglalakihang bituin sa industriya tulad nina Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Basil Valdez, Imelda Papin, Freddie Aguilar at maraming-marami pang iba.
Mula sa hosts na sina Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Christian Bautista, Aljur Abrenica at Karylle, pinasigla ng magkahalong awitin at sayawan ang entablado ng mga guest performers na sina: ‘Ang Huling El Bimbo’ cast Tanya Manalang, Reb Atadero, Topper Fabregas at Boo Gabunada; Inigo Pascual, Gloc 9, at naghandog naman ng compilation revival medley sina Brenan Espartinez, Laarni Lozada, Renz Verano, Jojo Mendrez at Sabrina.
Umapoy ang dance floor sa sing and dance production number ng Hashtags, si James Reid ay nakipagsabayan sa PHD Dancers at humataw sa dance exhibition si Regine Tolentino kasama ang kanyang dancers.
Ang grupong Ex Battalion, kasama sina Neil Perez, Ion Perez, Zachzna at Chic Ser ay nagpasikat; gayundin ang The Company.
Medley of songs ang kinamada ng mag-asawang Dingdong Avanzado at Jessa Zaragosa; at love song ang inihandog ni Concert King Martin Nievera sa kanyang spot number.
Para sa tribute sa dating member ng Hotdog na si Rene Garcia, na sumakabilang-buhay na, nag-alay ng Hotdog/VST & Company medley sina Clique 5, John Roa, JV Decena, Joaquin Garcia, Nick Vera Perez at Allen Cecilio.
Bilang pagpaparangal naman kina Feddie Aguilar (2018 Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Awardee), Imelda Papin (2017 Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Awardee) at Basil Valdez (2018 Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Awardee), nagbigay-pugay sa kanila sina Kris Lawrence, Morisette Amon at Jed Madela, at inawit ng mga ito ang mga kantang pinasikat ng tatlo, ‘Anak,’ ‘Isang Linggong Pag-ibig’ at ‘Ngayon At Kailanman.’
At para sa 2018 Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Awardee na si Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, nagbigay-tribute sina Martin Nievera, Christian Bautista at Erik Santos para sa mga awiting ‘Narito,’ ‘Could You Be Mesiah,’ ‘The Warrior Is A Child,’ ‘Take Me Out Of The Dark’ at ‘Sana Maulit Muli.’
Ang PMPC Star Awards for Music ay mula sa pamunuan ng kasalukyang pangulong Joe Barrameda, mga opisyales at miyembro, at ito ay mula sa produksyon ng Airtime Marketing Philippines ni Ms. Tess Celestino-Howard at sa direksyon ni Bert de Leon.
Mapapanood ang kabuuan ng show sa ika-23 ng Setyembre sa ABS-CBN’s ‘Sunday’s Best,’ pagkatapos ng ‘Gandang Gabi Vice.’
