Why Jake Cuenca walked out of his ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’ taping?

Actor Jake Cuenca reportedly walked out of his supposedly TV guesting on Vice Ganda’s midnight show ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’ recently. When Philippine Showbiz Republic (PSR) asked him about it, the actor said he did it on purpose. “I admit that I’ve decided not to push through with the taping of Vice Ganda’s show ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’ after I’ve found out that my ex girlfriend model and beauty queen aspirant Chanel Olive Thomas was on the set nearby,” explains Jake.
“Of course, it wouldn’t be fair for her to be put in a tight spot. We’re not yet friends, we’re not even on speaking terms so it was the best thing for me to do. I was surprised. Before they called our names, when we peeked out the door, I saw her (Chanell). All of the Miss Earth candidates were there,” he shares.
“It’s not that I couldn’t take it that she was there. I was just being a gentleman because I did not want to put her on the spot especially that thus us her moment, Miss Earth is approaching. I just didn’t want to put my ex-girlfriend in that situation.”
Jake said he has already apologized to Vice for the incident and that Vice understood the reason why he had to bow out.
Chanel is competing as one of the candidates of Miss Philippines Earth which will be held on May 31.
After taking an acting course in New York and bagging the Best Actor at the 2014 International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM), Jake returns to local showbiz as one of the leading men in the upcoming teleserye, an adaptation of the Colombian soap, ‘Pasion De Amor.’ Jake will be essaying the role of Juan Samonte, the eldest son alongside actors Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco who will seek revenge for the death of their sister.
In Pasion, Jake is paired with new Kapamilya actress Arci Muñoz who plays Norma. Jake said he loves working with Arci because aside from being good friends, he recognizes her depth as an actress.
When asked about the roles given to him, Jake said: “I am an actor. I am thankful to ABS for giving me this opportunity to be an antagonist and then be the hero, and whatever is in front of me, I will do it as an entertainer. I will do it well.”
Pasion de Amor also stars Ellen Adarna, Coleen Garcia, Teresa Loyzaga, Aubrey Miles, Michelle Madrigal, Ahron Villena, Ingrid Dela Paz, Daria Ramirez, Alex Castro, AJ Dee, Ron Morales, Zeppi Borromeo, Ashley Rivera, Benj Bolivar, Nathaniel Britt, Mauro Lumba, June Macasaet, and with special participation of Mr. Ronaldo Valdez.Pasion de Amor will be directed by actor-director Eric Quizon and will start airing on June 1.
