Janella Lazo Tee joins different pageants but finds herself in hosting
Janella Lazo Tee was Mutya ng Davao 2010. After that, she joined different national pageants including Miss Tourism World Philippines 2013, Miss Philippines Earth 2014, and Miss World Philippines 2015 but it seems she’s destined to become a TV host rather than a beauty queen.
She looks up to her idols Toni Gonzaga and Anne Curtis and hopes to be equally good like them that’s why she said she was extremely happy to be chosen as one of the hosts of Wowowin immediately after her first audition.
“Kahit wala akong korona sa sinalihang national beauty pageants, feel ko beauty queen ako sa programa ni Kuya Wil,” Janelle said.
“Hosting is my new career now, hindi lahat nabibigyan ng ganitong oportunidad kaya I consider myself lucky na na-impress si Kuya Wil sa talent ko,” she added.
She said she’s happy for where she is now and that she intends to stay long in the business. She only has good words for his mentor.
“Napaka-professional ni Kuya Wil. Istrikto siya pagdating sa oras. Pag sinabi niyang ganito ‘yung call time, kailangan maaga ka. And he doesn’t settle for anything less. He wants always the best. So you have to always give your best shot for the show,” she said.
“Hindi uso sa amin yung sinasabi nilang sapawan. Meron kaming kanya-kanyang segment to showcase our talents. Bigayan kami sa show, tulungan, walang inggitan at komportable na agad kami sa lahat maging may Kuya Willie,” Janelle explained.
Is Willie a good boss? Is he a disciplinarian? Does he plays favoritism?
“Kuya Wil always wants to give the best show to the people. It’s always about the people naman eh. Yung talaga ang priority niya ang mapasaya ang maraming tao. Gets naman namin si Kuya Will eh. Pantay-pantay ang trato niya sa amin. Hindi namin napi-feel na may favorite siya. Lahat kami mahal niya at favorite niya. Gusto niya kasing laging masaya ‘yung mga taong dumadayo sa studio at yung mga nanonood sa amin,”she said.
What important lessons has Janelle learned so far?
“Never give up and believe in getting what you really want in life. Darating din ‘yung right time. The perfect time which I think, ‘yung para sa akin, nangyayari ngayon. At the end of the day, just pray hard. And in everything you do, do your best and God will do the rest,” Janelle concluded.
