If beauty isn’t interesting enough for a man to notice a woman, then let Jodi Sta. Maria teach you how to make ‘Binalayok’ and capture a man’s heart. Cliché as it is, but the saying ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’ was exactly what Jodi Sta. Maria’s character, Amor de Jesus did in the remake of the hit soap opera and the first ever dubbed teleserye, ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo.’ During the pilot episode of ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo,’ Amor de Jesus (Jodi Sta. Maria) proved that she can get a guy to fall in love with her through her sumptuous specialty dish. Eduardo Buenavista, the character played by Ian Veneracion loved Amor’s ‘Binalayok’ when he tasted the town’s famous dish.

“This is fantastic… bro, introduce her to me, I’ll marry her,” says Eduardo Buenavista while having lunch with the town’s mayor and councilmen. Though he hadn’t met Amor on the first part of the pilot episode it is evident that Amor’s charisma through the ‘Binalayok’ dish made Eduardo yearn to meet the person who cooked the dish. It’s a very oversimplified way of saying that people often like to feel taken care of. Traditionally, one way for a woman to make a man feel cared for was to cook for him.

If Jodi Sta. Maria’s dish and beauty isn’t a best tandem to capture a man’s heart, then watch more of ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ on ABS CBN and see what else can capture Eduardo Buenavista’s attention.
