Joyce Peñas Pilarsky honored at 2nd Diamond Awards Night
An empowered woman is someone who’s confident, who stands what she believes in, who helps people by her ways—at the 2nd Diamond Awards Night, author/beauty queen/actress/philanthropist Joyce Peñas Pilarsky received a recognition “Most Empowered Woman of 2018,” November 17, Marco Polo Hotel.
“I inspire a lot of people to be the best that I can be. In my life, I’ve had a lot of challenges already. A lot of people tell you that you cannot do something and they put you down and then they tell you, hindi mo ‘to kayang gawin. It’s a challenge, nakaya kong gawin ‘yung mga sinasabi nilang hindi ko kayang gawin. I am also able to inspire a lot of people to go back to school. ‘Yung mga women na sabi sakin, matanda na raw sila para mag aral. I told them, it’s never too late to study again. You grow through the things that you learn. Natutuwa naman ako na marami akong na-inspire na mga kababaihan at mga youth to love themselves more, to take care of themselves, and to eat healthy. I share with them ‘yung mga experiences ko. Natuwa ako na nabago ko yung buhay nila. By touching somebody else’s life, I am more fulfilled.”
The Diamond Awards is organized by film producer Baby Go and her team behind PC Good Heart. The award aims to recognize men and women of different fields, who are able to excel and inspire.
Actress Joyce Pilarsky showed last November 17 with her elegant creation gown plus her glamorous accessories that made her more of a beauty queen. She said she’s lucky to be given the award because it means a lot to her.
The actress-beauty queen is also known abroad because of her fashion creations. She is the first Filipina to win the Classic Mrs. Asia International Global 2014. She also won “Mother of the Universe,” the first given award at the Mrs. Universe held in South Africa. Recently, she created her own fashion show featuring women with causes. Her Joyce Penas Pilarsky’s JPP collections are day wear end evening gown collections that highlight the raw and natural beauty of the Filipina.
More than her beauty and class, she appeared as actress and producer in “New Generation Heroes” with Anita Linda and Aiko Melendez where she was nominated at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
“Sabi sa akin ni direk Perry (Escaño), sa January 27 daw ipapalabas ‘yung movie namin na Ang Sikreto ng Piso. I hope na mag start na kami maglabas ng trailer, tapos mag start na kami mag guest para i-promote ‘yung movie for next year.”
She brings so much beauty and honor, but one thing she likes to do is helping other people. She supports different foundations that help women in the correctional institutions, street children with nothing to eat, and senior citizens with no one to live with.
“My greatest achievement is I am able to share a lot of tips to people na nabago ‘yung buhay nila. May mga friends ako na mahilig kumain. Sabi ko, dapat isipin muna nila ‘yung kakainin nila if it’s healthy or not. I made other people happy by sharing what I know.”
Most read author here in the Philippines is writing her second book.
“Wala pa akong title but that would be an inspiration to a lot of people aside from giving tips on how to stay healthy and beautiful at any age kasi doon I interviewed a lot of people to help me also to inspire other people kaya natuwa ako kasi hindi lang ako ang nagshe-share ng experience ko pati sila, yung mga nakausap ko na experts.”
The philanthropist is happy to announce her upcoming projects. There’s no stopping Ms. Joyce!
“We’ll be having a concert on September and we’re also planning something sa March, fashion shows siguro. And hopefully, next year, mailabas na ‘yung book ko kasi maraming nag aabang.”
Fashion shows, concert, book—super blessed she is. Another checklist is she is hosting her friend’s concert (Kathy Hipolito) on December 1 at Teatrino.
Being herself, helping a lot of people, and sharing her experiences—that make her an empowered woman.
