Kapuso hunk Tom Rodriguez praises gf for being supportive
For Kapuso hunk actor Tom Rodriguez, it pays to have a ‘significant other’ in life.
“It pays to have an inspiration. Siya iyong nagiging inspirasyon mo sa trabaho mo, sa buhay mo. Someone you want to grow old with. Someone you want to spend your life with,” he confided.
He even said that once you’ve found your ‘significant other,’ she becomes part of your priority.
“She is someone na naglalaan ka hindi lang ng emotional investment, kundi pati na ng time mo. Iyong bond ninyo grows as you grow with her. Dahil dito, minsan, may tendency na makalimutan mo na ang sarili mo. Call it selfless, pero that’s what love is all about naman, di ba?” he said.
He also said that his true ‘significant other’ remains to be Kapuso actress Carla Abellana.
“Yes, she’s Carla. She’s my significant other. She completes me,” he affirmed.
One thing that he appreciates about Carla is her being supportive of his endeavors.
“Gusto niya akong mag-grow. Hindi lang as an actor or a painter. Kasi, one time, I told her, sabi ko, gusto kong gumawa ng video games. Tapos, the next day, meron na siyang list ng video game developers sa Philippines na gusto niyang pagpilian ko, so, ganoon siya ka-supportive sa akin,” he shared.
“Hindi siya madamot kasi, ini-encourage niya kung ano ang hilig ko, kung ano ang endeavors ko,” he added.
He also confessed that they are considering of bringing their three year relationship to the next level.
“Yes, we want to take things to the next level, kaya lang nag-iipon pa ako. That’s why I am working hard. I’m trying to diversify , hindi lang sa showbiz kundi sa iba pang endeavors para may fallback din ako in the future,” he explained.
He also said that he’s certain that Carla is the woman he wants to spend his whole life with.
“There’s no question na siya iyong babae that I eventually want to settle down with. In fact, kung financially ready na ako, magpro-propose ako sa kanya ngayon. Ayaw lang naming madaliin kasi, gusto naming handa na kami sa lahat, emotionally, mentally and financially. Besides, last year lang din, namatay ang Dad ko,” said Tom.
However, he’s aware that getting hitched is a very crucial decision.
“We don’t want it take it lightly kasi may mga personal experiences na kami. Dati, naisip namin na sa Europe mag-settle down, but Carla wanted it here. I’m just hoping that it will happen very soon,” he reasoned out.
Tom said their goal now is to build a home for their would-be family.
He also has nothing but compliments for his two leading ladies in his movie “The Significant Other.”
“Si Erich, very secured siya. Confident siya sa ginagawa niya at nagtutulungan kami sa mga eksena.
“Si Lovi naman, intense siya. Nagkasama na kami sa teleserye sa GMA kaya gamay na namin ang isa’t isa. Good thing din na magkaibigan kami kaya kumportable na kami sa isa’t isa although kapag may mga love scenes, minsan, nagkakagulatan pa rin, but, I think, it’s part of the experience especially that this is my first time to work with Direk Joel Lamangan,” he concluded.
He also said that unlike his character, he is a ‘one-woman man’ who’s faithful to his partner.
“The Significant Other” now showing, tells the story of two women who fall for the same man.
How their paths cross is worth the watch.
Primera Aktresa Lovi Poe and Kapamilya Primetime Princess Erich Gonzales play the two women in Edward’s (Tom) life.
From Cineko Films and Star Cinema, this Joel Lamangan megger also stars Snooky Serna and Dina Bonnevie.
