Kiko Matos clarifies he’s not homophobic
Well, I’m a straight man.
“ I’m just being honest. This is what I experienced in the last and final kissing scene. I don’t think it should be considered homophobic. I’m actor pa rin and I’m portraying a role of someone who’s in love with a transsexual,” pahabol niya.
“In my opinion, if you’re in a relationship with another man, you’re considered gay or homosexual, even if you consider yourself as straight. That’s my opinion. But when I step into the shoes of my character, si Greg, I have to take away my opinion on these matters kasi, I have to step into the shoes without any judgment, so when I take up the role of Greg, I think that I’m straight, I believe that I’m straight,” paliwanag niya.
Nakagawa na gay roles si Kiko in the past.
“It’s more honest than daring. I mean, I believe that what has been asked of me, I delivered it with my best intention and without any reservation. This is more honest than the previous movies that I’ve done. Mas buo iyong character ko rito at mas alam ko iyong gagawin ko rito.Sa palagay, this is one of my trophy projects,” pagtatapos niya.
