Natutuwa si Gary Valenciano na isa siya sa kinuha ng ABS-CBN para maging hurado kasama sina Sharon Cuneta at Jed Madela sa reality show na “Your Face Sounds Familiar.” Gusto raw kasi niya talagang mapabilang sa nasabing show dahil sa pagiging kakaiba nito sa ibang mga shows sa telebisyon.
“Itong ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar espesyal sa akin kasi hindi ito pangkaraniwan na reality show. It’s not just a contest, it’s a different kind of contest na dapat panoorin ninyo dahil nakita ko kung ano ang ginagawa nila sa iba’t ibang bansa and napatulala talaga ako dahil grabe yung ginagawa ng mga contestants,”simulang sabi ni Gary sa naging panayam ng PSR sa kanya.
Patuloy niya,”It’s a different format but I think when the people see the contestants, kung akala ninyo kilala ninyo na yung mga contestants, dito ninyo makikita na hindi natin alam na kaya pala nilang gawin yun. Ang gagaling ng transformations ng mga contestants pagpasok nila sa ‘Iconator’, hindi mo talaga makikilala. It’s going to be fun that’s why I said yes, I want to be a part of it.”
“Well this one kasi, it’s not the kind of reality show na talagang kailangan ng bonding with the participants. Sa X-Factor naging mentor din ako eh. Actually humigit pa yung pagiging mentor ko sa pagiging judge kaya it’s very difficult for me. Next time, pag-iisipan ko talaga yung pagiging judge ng X-Factor or any other reality TV show. It’s becoming too much na kasi for me because I get easily attached to the participant. And mahirap yun kasi there are times when you have to vote and drop them from the competition because you have no choice.”
“I think I’m going to enjoy this show kasi nga kakaiba ito dahil it’s all about singing and impersonation. Magba-bonding din kami ng mga contestants pero not at the ‘mentoring’ level. It’s going to be more fun. Basta I love the format of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’, I’m sure viewers will enjoy it kasi iba yung format nung show.”
