Maureen Wroblewitz becomes the first Filipina to win Asia’s Next Top Model

FINALLY! A 19-year old half Filipina half German model Maureen Wroblewitz won the title of Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM).
The show was hosted by model Cindy Bishop. Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was one of the judges.
In the past cycles of AsNTM, it was almost a win for Jodilly Pendre and Monika Santa Maria, both from the Philippines.
It was a controversy why Jodilly and Monika didn’t win the title. For fans, the two were the perfect models for the title.
And now, our very own Maureen was the very first Filipina to bag the title.
It was an achievement for everyone especially the show is so big.
Tyra Banks built the empire and created America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) and franchised by many countries.
Maureen was bullied inside the house by fellow contestants and was questioned by her fellow Filipina contestant Jennica Sanchez.
She was tagged as just a “pretty face” and couldn’t do high fashion. But from week to week, Maureen stepped up her game and brought her high fashion game.
One of the judges and the creative director of the show Yu Tsai praised Maureen in every photo and said that she should embrace her “prettiness.”
The 19-year old half Filipina half German took stunning photos and got the most number of best photos. She wowed the judges everytime she walked in.
Being tagged or called as “pretty face” or “commercial girl” were the ultimate enemies of models. In fashion, that means you cannot do “high fashion” and you’re just a personality. But Maureen proved that a commercial looking woman can slay and can do high fashion.
She was the early favorite and the front runner in the competition. She was the shortest but height doesn’t matter for Maureen as she delivered high fashioned photos.
For her bashers, bitches, she won! She slayed! Congratulations, Maureen! Make us proud even more! You did a great job!
