Megan Young and Tom Rodriguez to star in new ‘Marimar’ remake

It’s confirmed! 2013 Miss World and returning Kapuso star Megan Young will bring to life the charming ‘Marimar,’ the iconic Thalia character previously portrayed by Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera in the GMA-7 adaptation back in 2007. Now, they’re all set to do another version of Thalia’s hit Mexican ‘Marimar’ with Megan as the lead star.
After a series of audition and call backs, Tom Rodriguez was tapped to play Sergio Santibanez, the role which was first portrayed by Dingdong Dantes. According to GMA-7 insiders, the 2015 adaptation of ‘Marimar’ will have a different take from the 2007 version which starred Marian and Dingdong. The new adaptation of ‘Marimar’ will begin airing on the second half of 2015.
