Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Lea Salonga finally meet
Sa wakas nga ay nakapagkita na ng personal sina Broadway Star Lea Salonga at Miss Universe 2015 na si Pia Wurtzbach. Habang nasa New York City ay hindi pinalagpas ni Pia ang pagkakataon upang mapanood ang Pinay na singer sa ginagawa nitong Broadway musical na “Allegiance.” Napaiyak nga si Pia nang makita at makausap ng personal ang hinahangaan niyang international star.
Sa opisyal na Instagram account ng Miss Universe, nag-post si Pia ng larawan nila ni Lea sa backstage na may caption na: “Finally watched Allegiance last night! Starring Ms. Lea Salonga. @msleasalonga is also a Filipina. Super performance from the whole cast. I had tears in my eyes by the end of the show.”
Matatandaang sumulat ng isang ‘open letter’ si Lea matapos ang pagkapanalo ni Pia sa Miss Universe. Sabi ni Lea: “You have, with your victory, put a smile on the faces of every single Filipino all over the world and made them feel proud to just be Filipino.” Dagdag pa ni Lea, “If there’s a perfect example of perseverance, training and grit, that would be you. And that is why that blue-and-silver crown sits atop your head.”
Nagbigay rin ng advice si Lea kay Pia kung paano nito dapat i-handle ang mga bashers nito online. “Do not allow anyone to take you down even one notch, whatever happens, even if that ‘anyone’ happens to be another Filipino.”
