‘MPK’ features “aswang”
JARLYN fears for her life and her family’s safety when an aswang (vampire creature) attacked her.
Alone with her children because her husband is working abroad, Arlyn have to protect her family.
So she seek the help of a witch doctor.
The witch doctor GLORIE is an unlikely albularyo – she is funny and hippy.
Eventually, while Glorie is teaching Arlyn how to be a witch doctor, the two became close friends.
Arlyn learns that Glorie had many children in her different past relationships and presently into her fourth relationship.
But Glorie learned that his live in partner has another woman and is now pregnant.
Glorie vowed to take her revenge.
One day upon visiting Glorie, Arlyn witnessed that people in the barangay wants Glorie to be vanished from their place.
For the reason Glorie is accused of killing the fetus of the other woman of her ex boyfriend.
That Glorie is not human, she is an aswang!
Arlyn was shocked.
Imagine her friend whom she asked to help her beat an aswang is also an aswang.
Since then, Arlyn ignored and avoided Glorie.
But Glorie did not stop asking for forgiveness.
Until Glorie explained that she herself did not want to be a monster.
That she only inherited the curse from her parents.
And she is unlike the other aswang – she doesn’t eat human meat.
Arlyn forgave Glorie, and since then they became closer like sisters.
Glorie found a new man in her life and promised that she will fight her animal side and try to live like a normal human being.
While Arlyn’s husband already returned from abroad.
But upon learning that Arlyn has a freak friend, her husband prohibited Arlyn to see Glorie.
For his husband, Glorie is insane.
Indeed, Glorie lose her mind when she discovered that his boyfriend, for the fifth time had left her for another woman.
Losing a dear friend and a lover, will Glorie return to the dark world of being aswang?
This unique horror-drama story of friendship entitled “Kaibigan Sa Umaga, Aswang Sa Gabi,” will be aired on Magpakailanman this coming June 19.
