Kate Brios’ take on the role of MTRCB
Kate Brios is not just an actress or a businesswoman but a versatile and beautiful human being who embodies a wide range of skills.
Another feather to her cap is her job as a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
“Mahilig din kasi akong manood ng pelikula at nagpro-produce rin ako so related siya sa trabaho ko,” she intimated.
She even said that she sees no conflict of interest between her job as a board member and as a film producer.
She also said that she does not advocate censorship.
She considers herself not too strict nor too lenient when it comes to reviewing movies and television shows.
“Tama lang siya. In moderation.
She’s also ecstatic that her movie “Bomba” (The Bomb) won special acting honors for her co-stars Allen Dizon and Angelline Nicholle Sanoy in the 33rd Warsaw International Filmfest in Poland this year.
“Actually, A-list ang Warsaw tulad ng Cannes, Berlinale at Venice at ang makasama lang ang pelikula mo ay isa nang malaking karangalan,” she reasoned out.
“Proud ako sa nakamit na karangalan nina Allen at Angelline at I consider them as pride ng mga Pinoy,” she added.
In Ralston Jover’s “Bomba” (The Bomb), she plays an important role.
May pagka-maldita siya pero challenging,” she said.
She’s also honored to work with Allen.
“First time ko siyang makatrabaho. Nakaka-challenge siyempre. Sana manalo rin ako kahit isa lang,” she declared.
As a producer, she’s proud that her very timely movie “EJK” (Extrajudicial Killings) on the drug menace in the country by NBI agent turned director Roland Sanchez continues to reap honors in different international film festivals abroad.
Dahil busy ako, hindi ako naka-attend ,” she quipped.
As a film producer, Kate has also “Maria Labo”,“Teniente Gimo” and “Tokhang” to her credits.
Kate is also a businesswoman and a ‘fashionista’ who owns her elite Kate Brios collection.
She is also an accomplished hotelier and resort owner in Bacolod.
She also juggles her time between overseeing her business in Bacolod and Manila and performing her job as MTRCB board member.
“Time management lang siya. Nakasanayan na rin,” she concluded.
