The book series, which spans 13 volumes, and have sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, was first adapted into a motion picture by Paramount Pictures in 2004. Plans to push through with a film series fell through, however..

Developed by Mark Hudis and starring Neil Patrick Harris as the nefarious Count Olaf, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes, all eight episodes of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events will be available to stream on Netflix starting January 13.
