No dull moment from start to finish
Congratulations to Pops Fernandez for her first movie venture under DSL Productions in collaboration with Cignal Entertainment.
Feelennial (Feeling Millennial) is surprisingly good.
The movie is all about ‘aging people’ trying to look for happiness and the second chance for love in this age of the Millennials using the social media — with the help of family and friends. That makes it a family movie, showing the socmed a positive tool to unite.
On the side, it shows young people’s and the feeling millennials’ hilarious ways of using the ‘in things’ of the mobile phone and the various apps available today.
In thier first starring tandem together are Ai-Ai delas Alas and Bayani Agbayani who registered good chemistry on the screen. Ai-Ai once again proved that she’s still the undisputed Comedy Queen of Philippine showbiz. Bayani’s deadpan humor clicked in the movie complimenting Ai’s brand of comic acting. That created a wacky duo to beat in the comedy department.
Talk about ensemble acting. Ai-Ai, the new tandem, is ably supported by veritable newbies — except for Ina Feleo and Nar Cabico — Raffy Roque, Nicole Donesa, Jelai Andres, Sophia Delas Alas, Arvic Tan, Skelly Skelly, and Micah Muñoz who gave outstanding performances to highlight the duo’s acting.
In the movie, Raffy (Bayani’s niece) and Arvic (Ai’s son) are the younger loveteam which was given their shining moments as well. The duo’s substory gives out lessons among the young and the young at heart: never to be impulsive and never rush things such as love and marriage.
Raffy also gave an outstanding rendition of the movie theme song ‘Himala,’ as arranged by Robin Nievera.
Feelennial has also found a new comedy director in the person of TV series director Rechie del Carmen. Congratulations, Direc, for a well-knitted situational comedy. There was no dull moment from start to finish. And the moviegoers headed home happy laughing after the grand premiere night on Monday.
Meanwhile, the movie producer (with her business partners, who have been staging concerts) decided to use DSL to honor mom Dulce and continue her legacy, being the singer’s concert producer all these years. Her former husband, Martin Nievera, also attended the premiere night to show his support. Both have a cameo role in the movie which added the ‘kilig’ factor among the moviegoers. Incidentally, the concert king and queen is pushing for their series of concerts in Europe this August.
‘Feelennial’ still showing today in cinemas. Watch and enjoy. It’s worth your time and money.
