Ogie Alcasid completes “Kuya Wes” experience with best actor trophies
Singer-Composer-Comedian OGIE ALCASID is on cloud nine these days.
The reason for this is his most recent victory with his best actor win for the drama film, “Kuya Wes.”
For the first time in his 30 plus showbiz career, Ogie gets recognition and acclaim as a dramatic performer for his work in the Cinemalaya entry “Kuya Wes.”
Ogie first received his very first victory in the recently concluded 21st Pasado ( Pampelikulang Samahan Ng Mga Dalubguro) for Best Actor.
This was followed by his recognition by the Laguna Excellence Awards as the Most Outstanding Film Actor of the Year, again, for “Kuya Wes.”
And most recently, Ogie was awarded by the Philippine Movie Press Club as Best Actor from the Star Awards for “Kuya Wes.”
“I’m so honored and elated by all of this,” says Ogie, who co-produced “Kuya Wes” when producer Ferdy Lapuz first approached him with this project.
Ogie liked the material so much that he sought the help of his friends from the industry, Piolo Pascual and Joyce Bernal, to co-produce the Film with him.
So, together with Spring Films, “Kuya Wes” was born. “It was all worth it,” says the prolific singer- songwriter, who now has three more award to add to his closet full of trophies.
