”Panahon ng May Tama: ComeKilig” is the best comedy entertainment for Valentine
by Roldan Castro
“Panahon ng May Tama: ComeKilig” is a hilarious Valentine show featuring three of the country’s popular comedy acts: Gladys “Chuchay” Guevarra, Ate Gay, and Boobsie Wonderland, plus the special participation of Metro Manila’s hottest FM radio personality, Papa Jack.
The show, to be held on Feb. 13 at Smart Araneta Coliseum, is written and directed by Andrew de Real, who promises to deliver “the best in comedy entertainment.”
De Real, owner of The Library—a club in Malate, Manila, regarded as a pioneer in contemporary stand-up comedy—is also the creative head of the top-rating GMA 7 show “Sunday Pinasaya,” which is where the Chuchay-Boobsie comic tandem was born.
Boobsie recalled that she and Chuchay first appeared as guests in “Sunday Pinasaya” upon the invitation of De Real. Their act, Boosie said, was well-received that they were asked to return as guests a few more times, until they became regulars in the cast.
Ate Gay first joined the Singing Cooks and Waiters before being discovered by Chocoleit while jamming onstage at Music Box. Ate Gay has since become a hit mashup singing comedy act.
Papa Jack—whose on-air program “True Love Conversations” broadcasts on Love Radio 90.7 FM and draws a loyal horde of listeners—said he will rely on his guts and confidence for the Valentine show, his first major live gig in a large venue. He has previously been performing in bars, singing and playing acoustic guitar, and conducts games with the audience.
