Rachelle Ann Go Ends Journey In Miss Saigon, Fil-Aussie Natalie Mendoza Takes Over!

Rachelle Ann Go bids the re-staging of Miss Saigon in the West End farewell after it was announced that Natalie Mendoza, a Filipino-Australian actress will take over the role of Gigi.
As early as last year, Rachelle Ann has expressed her desire to do other things. Despite all the accolades she had received from playing Gigi Van Tranh, she had decided not to extend her contract with Miss Saigon. She will be performing her very last “Miss Saigon” as Gigi on May 9, 2015.
“I’m ready to move on. I’m still thinking what I’m going to do next. But I’d want to explore more roles and other musicals. There’s more to life after Miss Saigon.”
Rachelle Ann has confirmed reports of her exit from the multi-awarded musical on her Twitter account. She also congratulated Nathalie Mendoza.
According to Wikipedia, Natalie Mendoza has been in the entertainment business since 1995 where she became part of films like Moulin Rouge in 2001 and in The Descent movies in 2005 and 2009. She also took parts in stage plays including Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Cats The Musical and Les Miserables.
Since Natalie Mendoza is also part-Filipino, she gives our fellow Pinoys another reason to be proud of.
