by PSR News Bureau
Veteran singer Rico J. Puno underwent a successful seven-hour triple heart bypass surgery over the weekend at the Asian Hospital. Rico suffered from breathing difficulty (due to aneurysm that affected an aorta) while he was taping for the ABS-CBN family-oriented program ‘Home Sweetie Home.’
Rico J. Puno, 62, is a popular Filipino pop singing artist and television host.
In 2012, Puno almost suffered a heart attack after his blood pressure shot up to 220/180 after his concert with Marco Sison and Hajji Alejandro.
Known for classic hits ‘Macho Guwapito,’ ‘Sorry Na Puwede Ba’ and ‘May Bukas Pa’, Puno is credited as a pioneer-promoteer of original Filipino music (OPM).
His daughter Queenie says, “We thank you and appreciate everyone for their support and prayers. We would like to extend the great news we received from his doctors. By God’s grace, Papa is doing good, recovering fast and responding well to his treatments.”
From Philippine Showbiz Republic (PSR), we’re all praying for your fast recovery and get well soon!
