Rocco and basher trade barbs over Twitter on the latter’s allegation of using Sanya
Kapuso actor Rocco Nacino was not spared from the controversy when he answered back at a basher who tried to mock him on social media.
This had something to do the belittling comments of a basher who obviously wanted to question his educational background when he said that he is getting his masters of arts in nursing soon.
A Twitter user with “@BasherMoAkoR” handle posted a tweet saying, “Are you educated? @nacinorocco parang hindi kasi eh.”
Rocco replied back by saying “Ibabalik ko iyon tanong mo sa iyo. Are you?”
The basher still mustered the guts to come up with another tweet to Rocco, to which the actor made another sarcastic reply.
“Be careful who you ask then. Good luck sa board exam. Make sure, take 1 lang, ha,” Rocco commented.
In defense, the basher said he is currently taking up Civil Engineering and admitted that there’s not much he can boast about at the moment to which the actor snapped back“ Then, balikan mo ako, kapag meron na,ha? Hintayin ko iyan. Kamayan pa kita, mismo.”
Philippine Showbiz Republic tried to get his side on the matter and the good-natured actor agreed to our interview.
“Ilang years ko rin kasing pinaghirapan ang aking propesyon. To go down like that, may mga bagay kasi tayong hindi pinapalampas. Kung ang ibang tao, hinahayaan lang ang ganyan, ako kung babanggain mo, I do things differently, lalo na’t may kailangan tayong ipagtanggol,” he said.
Prior to joining showbiz, Rocco is a registered nurse.
According to Rocco, he reacted that way because he did not like the insulting comments of his basher.
“Bagong gising, I guess.Nagkataon lang na may na-trigger lang sa akin pero, natutuwa naman ako sa mga supporters ko kasi, suportado naman nila ako,” he explained.
Asked if the basher is a supporter or fan of Sanya Lopez, his love interest in “Haplos”, Rocco has this to say.
“I don’t know kung totoo ngang supporter ni Sanya iyong nam-bash pero if ever, sana kinilala muna niya ako,” Rocco remarked.
Regarding the claim of kibitzers that he’s just using Sanya for the publicity of his movie, Rocco vehemently denied the accusation.
“Di naman natin maiiwasan ang ganyan pero, I don’t think I have to prove myself like that . Sa tagal ko na sa showbiz, I think, may na-prove na naman ako kahit papaano. Mas matagal na rin kasi ako sa showbiz so think what they want to think but I am not affected,” he said.
Although he has established himself a career in showbiz, Rocco still wants to complete his masteral studies in nursing.
“It’s there. Talagang nandoon ang love ko sa medical profession. Close as I can get is to get my master’s. Gusto ko talaga ay pediatrics pero mahirap at matagal siyang gawin, so I’ll just be happy with the aesthetics , pero let’s see. Baka magamit ko siya sa mga medical mission lalo na’t iyong family ko like my Mom is also involved sa mga medical missions. It’s a way na rin of paying back to a business that has been so kind to me,” he quipped.
Rocco is one of the lead actors in Kip Oebanda’s “Bar Boys” where he plays the role of a law student.
“My name is Toran Garcia, feeling leader siya ng group. Siya iyong senior of the group. Siya iyong si Mr. Know-It-All, mataas ang ego, ang pride. Siya iyong puntahan ng grupo kung may kailangang sagutin or the person to go to kapag may kailangan iyong grupo. His ego will be tested through out the film dahil makakahanap siya ng katapat sa mga lawyers, sa mga teachers,” he said.
According to Rocco, playing the role made him appreciate the lawyering profession more.
“Hindi ko akalain na ganoon pala kahirap ang maging abogado. Aside iyong mga books na binabasa nila at iyong time na ginugugol nila sa mga debate tulad din ng nursing, madugo rin pala ang kanilang pinagdaraanan. That’s why, after doing the movie, I have this new found respect for lawyers dahil mas naiintindihan ko na sila,” he concluded.
Rocco is ecstatic about the high ratings and positive feedbacks of their afternoon TV series on GMA-7.
He even gave Sanya (Lopez), his Haplos costar and screen partner, a cute puppy on her birthday.
