Singer-actress Selena Gomez reveals she was diagnosed with lupus

Selena Gomez recently confirmed that she was indeed diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease during the time she has canceled her Star Dance tour from 2013 to 2014. Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend finally spoke about her condition after rumors started circulating that she was suffering from an illness.
“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke,” Selena shared. “I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.”
Selena also shared that she is now back and busy focusing her music via her own album Revival set for release today, October 9. She said the hate she’s been receiving actually did its part to motivate her and push her harder. She also spoke about taking control of her own body image and former boyfriend Justin Bieber.
Selena also thanked her good friend Taylor Swift for helping her out when it comes to opening herself to others. “Taylor makes me feel empowered, like I can trust new people,” she said. “All of those girls are so dope. We ran around taking pictures, changing dresses, dancing—super-cliché girly stuff but it rocked. The way she cares 
about women is so adamant. It’s pulling me out of my shell.”
