She’d probably every mom’s dream daughter.
Her name was all over the headlines way back 1990 because of the promil kid commercial as she explained things about science. She became inspirational to every kid and to every mom during that time with her extraordinary 164 IQ level and that was really wow. She is adorable. She is genius. She is Shaira Luna.
Accelerated at a young age, Shaira was only 13 years old when she entered De La Salle College to take up BS Biology. She was going to be a doctor everyone proclaimed.
This petite, old-school, indie-ish, soft-spoken, always smiling girl wows us with her extraordinary talent. She gives us this positive aura, positive vibe that makes us realizes how good and easy life is.
Shaira, from taking up Biology up to finding her true passion and that is capturing the most cinematic subject—photography.
This extraordinary girl was one of the first few who stepped out the university to find her passion. And look where it got her.
She just owned back then an instamatic point and shoot camera, which she used to take pictures. She might have been shifting courses, but that gives her a freedom to fly. And here she is, a top fashion photographer in the Philippines.
She’s your girl with big tripod on and camera on. She captures the world for when she was young everyone says that this girl is the next big thing and she did.
When she first comes on set, her client remembers her as the promil kid “aren’t you the Promil kid”.
Today, she’s the most influential fashion photographer alongside with BJ Pascual. She photographs almost of the famous personalities in the Philippines. She also photographs models from different countries that make Shaira Luna as a brand.
You can see her name almost in all magazine spreads, bringing her A-game in the fashion photography, giving us her unique, vintage-ish, pop editorial campaigns.
She said in one interview, “I found out by accident. I always study light and how it fell on people’s faces and how that affects their mood.”
With her cool-old-school fashion sense, Shaira steps on set with smile on her face that makes everybody fell in love with her. She’s your easy girl to shoot with and if ever you drop by in her shoot, she’ll cheerfully tell you about her journey from being a gifted child to a talented photographer.
