‘Watch Me Kill’ takes home three awards from PPP
Psycho-thriller “Watch Me Kill” took home three awards (Best Director, Best Editing, Best Cinematography) at the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) awards night, Pasay City.
Starring Jean Garcia, its director Tyrone Acierto completed his night with best director trophy. He is best known for his works “The Grave Bandits” and “The Disturbed.”
The PPP’s best director likes doing dark films, making him different from other Pinoy directors. With his PPP entry, he showcased Garcia’s fearless acting.
His psycho-thriller film tells the story of prolific killer-for-hire who finds solace and redemption after rescuing a teenage girl who was held captive by the man she was paid to kill.
Acierto impressed moviegoers with his execution and creativity. He has delivered a job well done as director from his symbolisms to his language, making him this year’s PPP best director.
“He knows what he’s doing. Hindi naman s’ya nag-e-expect na makakapasok sa PPP. Sabi ko, direk try lang natin. Para talaga sa kanya ang PPP. Very creative si direk. Kakaiba s’ya,” Mell Navarro, associate producer, told PSR.
