Willie Revillame ordered arrested over child abuse case

Nagbigay na ng go-signal ang pag-aresto at pag-uusig mula sa Court of Appeals para sa TV host na si Willie Revillame ukol sa inihaing reklamo sa kanya kung saan inakusahan siya ng child abuse at child exploitation.
Sa 11-pahina na desisyon na inisyu ng Court of Appeals sa sala ni Associate Justice Ma. Luisa Quijano-Padilla ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court, ipinalabas ang nasabing order.
Inakusahan si Revillame ng pag-abuso sa bata matapos niyang pasayawin ang isang anim na taong batang lalaki sa kanyang dating programang “Willing Willie” kung saan sumayaw ang bata na animo’y isang ‘macho dancer’ kung makagiling ang nasabing bata.
Nang makita ni Revillame kung paano sumayaw ang nasabing bata, ipinaulit niya rito ang pagsasayaw at binigyan ito ng P10,000. Sinubukan din umanong gayahin ni Revillame ang pagsasayaw ng bata at ipinaakyat pa niya ang bata sa isang hydraulic circular platform habang sumigaw si Revillame ng “beer pa.” Umiyak ang nasabing bata sa pagkapahiya habang sumayaw ito.
Ayon sa Department of Social Welfare and Development, sila mismo ang nag-file ng reklamo laban kay Revillame sa ginawa nito sa bata. Lumabag diumano si Revillame sa Republic Act 7610 or yung Anti-Child Abuse Law mula sa Quezon City Prosecutors Office.
“There is probable cause for the petitioner’s commission of a crime, his arrest and arraignment should now ensue so that this case may properly proceed to trial where the merits of both parties’ evidence and allegations may be weighed,” the appeals court said adding that “the case had long been delayed because of the petitioner’s refusal to submit to the trial court’s jurisdiction and erroneous invocation of the Rules in his favor.”
The appeals court said the lower court followed the rules in thoroughly evaluating the evidence and factual circumstances presented before him before finding probable cause to order Revillame’s arrest.
Nakapag-file na si Revillame ng apela para sa motion for reconsideration sa mababang hukuman pero hindi ito tinanggap ng korte noong Oct. 4, 2013.
Sabi ng hukuman, ang sinasabi at claim ni Revillame na wala itong intensiyon para ilabag ang batas ay kanyang dapat na patunayan sa korte sa oras ng paglilitis.
